2 Sisters Food Group donates one million meals.
We are pleased to announce our support for the FareShare Supplier Club, initiated by 2 Sisters Food Group in collaboration with M&S, marking a significant milestone in food manufacturing. Together, we aim to donate one million meals to FareShare, addressing the pressing issue of food insecurity in the UK.
With 13 million people struggling with food insecurity, 2 Sisters Food Group is dedicated to extending a helping hand, especially during the lead-up to Christmas. Kent Foods is honored to contribute supplies to facilitate this meaningful endeavor.
Each meal will be carefully crafted for donation, utilizing the spare capacity within the 2 Sisters network to ensure maximum impact.
Ranjit Singh Boparan, the visionary behind 2 Sisters, expressed pride in the group's involvement in this innovative initiative, underscoring their commitment to making a difference in the community.
“Never before has helping to feed everyone in need with a nutritious meal been so important, and it’s very pleasing to see retailers, manufacturers and our supplier partners coming together to help make this possible.
“This powerful alliance and the goodwill of organisations for their flexibility, generosity in giving time and resource has made all this possible, and I applaud everyone for their efforts.
“This has happened against a backdrop in recent years where waste and surplus efficiency gains in food manufacturing have improved beyond measure, so it’s especially gratifying for us to use under-utilised capacity in our network and work with our supplier partners so we can donate bespoke, targeted products that will benefit those that need it most.”
